Teen Stroke Linked to Sugary Drinks; Experts Share Warning Signs

A 14-year-old boy recently suffered a stroke. His family said he often drank sugary beverages instead of water and ate unhealthy food for years. Doctors warn that strokes are happening in younger people due to bad lifestyle habits. To spot a stroke quickly, remember the "Stroke 1-2-0" rule: check if the face is uneven, if one arm drops when raised, or if speech is unclear. If any sign appears, call emergency services immediately. Other signs include sudden headache, dizziness, or vision problems. Do not give the patient water, medicine, or food. Do not try bloodletting or give aspirin without a doctor's order. Keep the patient lying flat with their head turned to the side. To prevent strokes, experts advise drinking plain water, limiting salt and sugar, quitting smoking, and exercising regularly. People over 40 should have yearly health checks.
